Ukrainian Egg Painter At Benefit for Housatonic Habitat

Danbury -- Come meet 'Pysanka' egg painter Moki Kokoris at the first annual Crafts n’ Drafts at Danbury Elks Lodge No. 120, 36 Hollow Road in Danbury on Saturday, September 21st from 6 pm - 9 pm. Kokoris will not only demonstrate her technique, but will also show how you can create these one-of-a-kind treasures in your own home.

Says Kokoris, “Pysanka is a thousand-year-old form of egg painting originating in Ukraine. The practice involves writing on the eggs in such a way that the symbols take on specific spiritual meaning.”

Ridgefielder Kokoris, a portrait artist, illustrator and graphic designer, devotes much of her time to environmental advocacy and stewardship, sharing her experience and passion for the Arctic through her 90-North Outreach Education Program. The program is affiliated with the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

At Crafts N‘ Drafts you can jump-start your entire creative side with demonstrations by area artists, while sipping unique brews from Nod Hill Brewery. Nod Hill brewers will be on tap to discuss their frothy craft.

Participate in a design competition with Design Dot, pitting “his” against “hers” in creating space from “man cave” to “she shed.” Feast on fabulous food catered by local restaurants while learning the ABC’s of design, painting and wood crafting.
