Description: Hamden's Arts, Recreation & Culture Department announces the 2012-2013 Peter C. Hereld Sunday Performance Series . The series has been retitled in gratitude to Mr. Hereld, a former Hamden Arts Commissioner, for his generous support of this program.
On November 4, The Riverboat Ramblers, one of New England’s best Dixieland jazz groups, recommended by the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism, will perform the music of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and more.
All events will be held in the handicapped-accessible Thornton Wilder Hall, Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden. Admission is $7 general admission/ $5 for senior citizens, students and children 12 and under. Tickets are sold at the door only. Phillips Farm Funday in Southbury
Where: Southbury Land Trust, 500 Sanford Rd. in Southbury

Description: An afternoon featuring haywagon rides, pumpkin hunts, treats and goodies, refreshments, coloring contest, prizes and guided hikes of a beautiful 100-acre Southbury farm.
Trunk-or-Treat in Orange
Where: High Plains Community Center, 525 Orange Center Road

Description: Orange's rescheduled night of trick-or-treating allows children to trick-or-treat in a central location from residents' cars.
Oxford: Holiday Fair

Description: The holiday fair will have many new features such as a regift it table, antique lace, lunch, hot chocolate and cookies. The quilt exhibit has a charge of $3.00.
41st Oxford Arts and Crafts Show
Where: Oxford Center School, 462 Oxford Road
When: Saturday, Nov. 3, 10 a.m.

Description: This juried show offers stationery, pottery, herbal creations, jewelry, ornaments, handspun alpaca yarns, soft sculpture and totes. Also featured will be handmade books and boxes, oil paintings, photography, metal crafts and folk art. Other offerings include quilling, beeswax candles, soaps, candy and dried flowers.
