Wilton Artist is Founder of Pet Traits

Looking for that one of a kind gift this season… how about a painting of you best friend’s Pekinese or your favorite aunt’s poodle. According to Susan Kurnit, Wilton artist and founder of Pet Traits,” Pet paintings are unique and personal. They are the kind of gift that keeps you smiling and give pleasure all year long.”

Susan launched Pet Traits, the business of creating animal portraits, about a year ago and her paintings are gracing walls all over Fairfield County and beyond. If your pet is a llama or bunny, she can paint them too. Says Susan, “No need to primp your pet for a sitting, I work from your favorite photos.” She will even add a touch of holiday cheer like a Santa hat, snow bells or even reindeer ears.”

Kurnit is currently studying with noted illustrator and painter Steve Parton who is on the faculty of The Silvermine School of Art in Wilton, CT. He is a recipient of the J. Francis Murphy Award as well as the Grand National Newington and Salmagundi Art Club Awards, among others. She is also studying with portrait painter, Althea Ericson.
