Wine Class held to benefit Housatonic Habitat for Humanity

Wine enthusiasts and other local supporters attended a wine class held on Wednesday, June 20th at Max Wines & Liquors, in Danbury, CT. The event provided an opportunity for guests to learn about many different wines and spirits, and to learn how to order like a pro and pair their selections with just the right hors d’oeuvres. SJK Jazz, a local trio, performed tunes from The Great American Songbook, as well as 20th Century jazz favorites. SJK Jazz features Noel MacCarry on saxophone, Stan Kishner on keyboard and John Krieger on guitar. They were joined by vocalist Wendy Matthews. The evening benefited Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, which builds work-force housing for first-time home buyers in greater Danbury.

Housatonic Habitat for Humanity focuses on making a meaningful difference in the lives of qualified working families by promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency through ownership of affordable homes. This process transitions families from renters to homeowners who pay taxes; it helps stabilize families; and enables households to build equity for their future.
