Winter is a Great Time to Get Your Yoga On
Gentle and Adaptive Yoga Makes this Wonderful Form of Exercise Accessible for All.
When winter starts to emerge, New Englanders reflexively start to yearn for the glory days of Fall or dream of a jaunt to Miami Beach or destinations down south. How about winter ushering in a new routine or opportunity to try a new exercise, perhaps, one that you may have been hesitant to try?
To this end, the Danbury Public Library is offering a winter Yoga class. The class will focus on Shakti Yoga postures and will be taught in a "gentle Yoga style." In addition to this class being welcoming to all, it will be taught in Spanish!
"Libraries have become essential wellness zones in their community," reports Ms. Jodi Weisz, Adult Librarian at the Danbury Public Library.

"Earlier this year, we coordinated a community-wide Health Fair with the City of Danbury's Health Department; over the summer we offered a calendar of health and wellness programming; we offer meditation and mindfulness programs; and now we are thrilled to offer Shakti Yoga--taught in Spanish--on Saturday mornings, led by a wonderfully nurturing and supportive teacher, Ms. Gabby Ramon."
Adults are flocking to these vital and engaging programs. States one program participant, "I regularly go to the Brookfield YMCA and now I also regularly go to The Danbury Public Library because they have such excellent workshops focused on self-help and personal growth. I love it."
