Woman Assaulted with Own Knife After Collision: Danbury PD
The eye injury was described as serious and required immediate surgery.

DANBURY, CT — A woman was rushed to the hospital for immediate eye surgery after being assaulted by another woman at a local gas station, police are reporting.
Police responded to a call on Wednesday at the Food Bag/Citgo gas station located at 90 West Street, for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
Arriving on the scene police discovered a woman inside the Food Bag with a stab/slash wound to her right eye, face and hand. It was learned that the woman had been injured with a knife when attempting to thwart off a physical assault by another woman.

The assailant was identified as Rosa Iris Tolentino-Reyes. Police learned that the victim was driving a car that had accidentally struck the vehicle being driven by Tolentino-Reyes, who assaulted the other female as she was still seated in her stopped vehicle, with the door closed. During the attack, the victim produced a knife, and it was that weapon that Tolentino-Reyes used to inflict the wounds on the victim.

“The eye injury was described as serious and will require immediate surgery,” according to Detective Lt. Mark Williams. The victim was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for specialized care.
Tolentino-Reyes was charged with second-degree assault and breach of peace, and is being held by the Danbury PD on a $25,000 bond.
