Woman Punched, Spit On, Tried to Bite Danbury Mall Cop: Police

The Waterbury woman allegedly punched the mall officer in the face after trying to steal clothing from JC Penny at the Danbury Fair Mall.

DANBURY, CT-- Police say a Waterbury woman tried to steal $158 worth of merchandise from JC Penny last Thursday, according to The News Times.

The paper reports than Yvonne Shmia Byrd, 27, of Waterbury, allegedly punched, spit at and tried to bite a mall security officer after attempting to steal leggings, shirts and socks.

She was charged with felony robbery and misdemeanor breach of peace and released on $7,500 bond, police said.
