Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield awards Scholarships
The WCDNF awards six scholarships and one award for outstanding Volunteerism to area High School seniors.
Since 1982, the Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield has been awarding scholarships to local high school seniors. Through the years, $189,645 dollars has been awarded through the club's yearly Poinsettia fundraisers.
This year six high school seniors received $1,700.00 ea. and one student received $800.00 for outstanding Volunteerism for a total of $11,000.00.
Members of the Education Committee review the applications and select the winners for their academic excellence, school participation, and community involvement. the scholarships are given to the students at their respective school's Awards Ceremony.

Monique DeLima and Olivia Alessandro were selected from Danbury High School. The Alternative Center for Excellence winner was Caitlyn Delaney. Shayni Shukla won for Henry Abbott Technical School. From New Fairfield High School the winner was Shannon Broderick. Kelly Cordova was the recipient from Immaculate High School. The Volunteerism Award was given to Claudia Harris from Danbury High School.
The Woman's Club of Danbury/New Fairfield was founded in 1982 by 20 civic minded charter members. It is a non-sectarian, non-partisan, non-profit organization whose object is to unite women in the community in fellowship for the advancement of education and charitable gifts. Our club motto is "Sharing, Caring, and Giving."
