2024 Darien Fireworks Show Postponed

DARIEN, CT — The town fireworks originally scheduled for July 12 at Darien High School have been postponed due to impending bad weather, according to an announcement from the Parks and Recreation Department late Thursday afternoon.

The new date for the event will be July 19.

"Many factors go into making this determination including staffing of multiple town departments, the safety of attendees, staff, the fireworks crew, and vendors as well as the on-site work that begins as early as 5 a.m. the day of, and concludes at 10 a.m. the following day," the Parks and Recreation Department said on Facebook.

The rescheduled fireworks will follow the same start times as previously planned, the department added. All parking passes will be honored.

The schedule for July 19 is as follows:

6:30 p.m. – Gates open on Noroton Avenue and vendors open
7 p.m. – Games in the courtyard until 8:30 p.m.
7:30 p.m. – Darien Community Band in the courtyard until 8:30 p.m.
9:15 p.m. – Fireworks begin
