2nd Annual 'Darien's Best Bartender' Contest Set For September

The event will benefit The Community Fund of Darien.

DARIEN, CT — Find out who is Darien's best bartender on Sept. 19 at the 2nd Annual Darien's Best Bartender Contest, sponsored by Moffly Media's New Canaan–Darien & Rowayton Magazine.

The event, for which a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Community Fund of Darien, will take place in Darien's scenic Grove Street Plaza from 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m. The rain date is Sept. 20.

Local mixologists will design signature cocktails and entertain attendees, who will have the opportunity to sample drinks prepared with select ingredients and vote for their favorites. The cocktail with the most votes will be featured in the November/December issue of the magazine, along with photos of guests and competitors.

Darien’s Best Bartender Contest will also feature live music and seasonal light bites prepared by chefs from a variety of local restaurants, including The Waters Edge at Giovanni’s, Center Street Public House, Darien Butcher Shop, Jimmy’s Southside Tavern, Estia’s Back Porch Cafe, Fjord Fish Market, Rory’s Restaurant and The Melting Pot. Liquor will be provided by Valor Spirits, and water will be provided by exclusive water sponsor VOSS Artesian Water. Local Business and Flower Sponsors include William Pitt - Sotheby’s International Realty, Helen Ainson, Le Boudoir and The Gardener’s Center and Florist. Drinks and nibbles will be served in the lovely, open-air venue at Grove Street Plaza. It’s the ideal place to mingle with old and new friends, and celebrate one of the last evenings of the summer!

The event is produced by New Canaan-Darien & Rowayton Magazine’s parent company Moffly Media, creator of the hugely successful Best Bartender competition in Stamford - now an annual contest which takes place by the water in Harbor Point and draws guests from around the county.

A portion of ticket proceeds from Darien’s Best Bartender Contest will benefit The Community Fund of Darien. This 65-year-old organization makes grants to local nonprofits to ensure that critical services such as food, shelter and mental health are accessible and affordable to residents in Darien, Stamford and Norwalk.
