DARIEN, CT — Dozens of bottles of wine, worth a combined $3,000, were reported stolen from a Darien residence on July 30, according to police.

At least 24 to 36 bottles of wine were reported stolen by the owner of the home on Leeuwarden Road, which police said is currently for sale.

"The victim, a 63-year-old Darien resident, reported that he had been away for a period of a few weeks and discovered on July 27th that a quantity of wine, believed to bebetween 24 and 36 bottles, was now missing from his wine cellar," wrote Darien police in a statement. "The victim also reported that other bottles had been moved around in an apparent attempt to disguise the fact that bottles were missing."
