• Veterans To Be Honored In Darien At Special Ceremony (patch.com) — Darien residents are invited to a special Oct. 6 ceremony at the Mather Center Cafe honoring local Korean and Vietnam War veterans with state-issued pins and certificates. First Selectman Jon Zagrodzky and the Monuments & Ceremonies Commission are coordinating the catered event, which will feature the national anthem, a color guard, and broad invitations to Darien veterans.
   

• PURA Issues Draft Decision On Proposed Cable Access Changes (patch.com) — Darien cable viewers will continue seeing town-specific programming on Optimum after PURA's draft decision denying Nutmeg Public Access Television's bid to take over Area 9 community access operations. DarienTV leaders, who opposed the proposal, say the ruling protects easy access to local government meetings and community content while parties now prepare comments before PURA issues a final decision.
