Darien had to come from behind on Monday to beat a pesky Bridgeport Central team 5-2 in Bridgeport.
Both teams received strong starting pitching with Johnny Dehlin going six strong innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits and Central's Vilanova pitching one run ball through five innings before giving up three runs in the sixth.

Trailing 2-1 in the top of the sixth Sam Gillespie started the one out rally with a triple to deep left field. With two outs Tommy MacLean was hit by a pitch, Andrew Maley walked, and Carl Stowell hit a single to right center driving in Gillespie and MacLean as Darien took a 3-2 lead.
Mike Stovall and Thomas Carruthers were hit by pitch in succession scoring Maley. In the seventh Darien tacked on a run on a double to right by Bryan Previte, a single by Gillespie, and a sacrifice fly by MacLean.

Mackenzie Glavine came on in the bottom of the seventh and closed the game without giving up a hit. Previte was brilliant in center field tracking down several long drives with runners on base to snuff out potential rallies.
Darien's record now stands at 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the FCIAC.
