Phil’s Grill Hosts Fundraiser for Hackers For Hope

Phil Santomassi, of Phil’s Grill in Darien will be opening his doors on Monday, September 12th from 6-9:00 p.m. for a fund raiser for Hackers For Hope, a local
charitable organization that gives grants for cancer research and treatment. Phil and Phil’s Grill co-owner James Calcagnini, have been involved with Hackers For Hope for two years.They are both participants in the Hacker for Hope event which takes place annually at — this year on September 23rd.

James and Phil opened Phil’s Grill in April and have included a “Hackers For Hope” burger on their permanent menu and have donated 10% of the proceeds from the sale
of this burger to the charity. The were hoping to do even more to raise funds for this worthy cause by hosting a night of good food and live music with proceeds going to the charity. For the September 12th fund raiser, guests will enjoy a hearty buffet dinner and live music. Two i-scoot scooters are also being raffled by Phil and James. Tickets to the dinner are $50 and raffle tickets are $25 each.

Hackers for Hope was founded 23 years ago by local residents and cancer survivors Alfred E. Smith IV and Tim Brown. Over the years, Hackers For Hope has donated over
$9 million dollars to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Bennett Cancer Center of Stamford Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical College. For more information about
