Artist Andrea Bonfils To Exhibit @ the American Fine Craft Show
Local artist joins 90 exhibitors at the Brooklyn Museum's landmark Beaux-Arts Court November 18-19

Artist Andrea Bonfils Darien, joins 89 artisans and artists at the fifth American Fine Craft Show at the Brooklyn Museum November 18-19.
On her website Bonfils writes: "Using unconventional hardware - a blow torch, iron and other heated tools, along with paper, photography, resin and natural materials – Andrea Bonfils employs mixed media with deft skill and innovation. Her uncommon painting techniques yield to a vision that is intense, mysterious and ethereal.
“Her artwork embodies that vision particularly in her underwater series, and those that depict subjects of wild horses and aspens. The newly released ‘Submerged Garden’ series is a photographic meditation on an idealized oceanic paradise.” Using “pioneering underwater techniques to create large-scale photographs of dream-like rapture she achieves images of submerged floral sculptures that morph into sacred geometric abstractions.” Inspired by underwater expedition to Belize 20 years ago before the coral reefs had begun to die off, Bonfils created the series to memorialize their original majesty and support their restoration.
