Be Vigilant Concerning This New Scam: Darien Police
Darien Police are sharing details of a scam that is going around.
DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department is urging residents to be vigilant against would-be scammers. Police say some phone scammers pose as police officers and can actually make it look like that the scammers are calling from the actual police department phone number.
Beware of phone scammers posing as DPD officers and “spoofing” the police department’s actual number. Legitimate agencies will never ask you to make a money wire transfer while on the phone. If something doesn't sound right, it probably isn't. Hang up and call us at 203.662.5300
