Car Burglary Wave Hits Darien

Remember to lock your vehicles.

DARIEN, CT — A large number of car burglaries have occurred in town recently. In all but one case the vehicles were left unlocked.

The following is a summary of thefts from vehicles between Feb. 13 and 14.

  • An Acura MDX was burglarized on Brookside Drive. Nothing taken.
  • A Toyota Rav 4 was burglarized on Hollow Tree Ridge Road. Nothing taken.
  • A Mercedes Benz was burlgarized and nothing taken on Hollow Tree Ridge Road.

  • A Jetta was burglarized between Feb. 15 and 16 on Hillside Avenue. Nothing was taken.
  • A Subaru Imprezza had its driver side window smashed and $360 in cash was taken from the Walgreens parking lot on Heights Road.
  • Three vehicles were burglarized on the Post Road between Feb. 19 and 20. The vehicles belong to the same owner. About $80 in coins along with vehicle registration, insurance cards and manuals were taken from the vehicles. Also taken was a $50 tool, five CDs and a cell phone charger. It’s the third time the vehicles have been burglarized.
