CT Elementary Student Walks Out Of School Instead Of Going To See The Nurse: Report

The incident occurred Tuesday morning.

WATERBURY, CT — A Connecticut elementary school student walked out of his school alone Tuesday morning, instead of going to see the nurse as he was told, touching off a frantic search for the boy who eventually turned up safe at home, reports the Waterbury Republican-American.

The fifth grader walked out of Waterbury's Tinker Elementary School at about 8:30 a.m. and disappeared. How he was able to leave school undetected is under investigation.

Local police were notified about the disappearance, and officers found him about 45 minutes later safe at his home, which is about two blocks away from the school.
