DARIEN, CT — Darien will soon begin work to update its Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD), which serves as a guiding light for the town in long-term decision making on issues like land use change and resource protection.

According to the town's most recent bi-weekly newsletter, the town is contracting a professional consultant and will announce a public engagement strategy. Darien will seek input from residents, local businesses and nonprofits on the POCD update.

"The public engagement process will allow participants to share things about Darien that they like, things they don’t, and areas for improvement," the town's newsletter said. "This collective feedback will help create a meaningful plan that balances residential and commercial development goals with other town priorities such as the need for open space, clean air, clean water, and a walkable community."
