Darien Chamber Of Commerce Launches Community Mobile App

DARIEN, CT — Everything you ever wanted to know about Darien is now right at your fingertips.

The Darien Chamber of Commerce on Thursday announced the launch of the first-ever Community Mobile App, LiveDarienCT, which was created to bring the town's resources together in one place.

The app will feature a "Eat/Shop/Play/Work/Live" format, with key features including the chamber of commerce's directory that offers a listing of reputable local businesses, establishments and organizations. The Darien Community Calendar will also be featured, which will give residents a quick access guide to local events, activities and promotions.

Current real estate listings, town amenities, town resources, job postings, emergency services, and more are all part of the app. Darien Dollars, the new town wide gift certificate program, will now offer gift deliveries and redemptions via text or email on the app.

For businesses, upgraded listings are available and can be customized including direct links to social media, maps, business hours, custom buttons for menu links, push notifications, sale alerts and customer reminders. Advertising opportunities will also be an option for members.

"Due to the shift in how we receive our daily information, we wanted to develop a mobile app as an improved and additional means of marketing for our members and communications for the town," said Cheryl Williams, chairman of the board for the Darien Chamber of Commerce, in a news release. "It will serve as a key platform to sustain our mission and connect the businesses with the residents”

The Darien Sport Shop sponsored the launch of the app.

"Being the landmark cornerstone of Darien, [there is] no one better than the Darien Sport Shop to welcome shoppers and new residents to Darien," said Darien Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kesti Aysseh in a news release. "Just as the sport shop is the first store you see driving into Darien, we wanted them to be the first thing people see when they open the app welcoming you here."
