Darien Church Victimized By Fake Article Hoax: Report

A mailer containing a fake article which criticized the church was distributed to some residences in early February.

DARIEN, CT — A Darien church was victimized recently by a mailer that contained a fake article that has subsequently been denounced as a hoax, reports CT Jewish Ledger.

The fake article, which erroneously says was written by The Jerusalem Post, was distributed to several Darien residences in early February.

In the fake article, which was erroneously credited to author Dexter Van Zile, the Noroton Presbyterian Church and its pastor were said to be harboring an anti-Semitic Palestinian agitator.

Van Zile, a member of the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America, has vehemently denounced the article as a hoax, stressing that not only did he not write it, it also was never published by The Jerusalem Post.
