Darien Considers Utilizing Mobile App For Train Station Parking

DARIEN, CT — Town officials are considering using a mobile app to help commuters find parking near the Darien Train Station, writes the Darien Times.

The system, developed by Boxcarapp.com, works with commercial or church property owners near a train station to use their free parking spaces and gives that entity a cut of the daily parking fee.

In Darien, the Goodwives Shopping Center and Fisherman’s Net restaurant were mentioned as possible spots that might be able to work with Boxcar for parking spaces, according to the publication.

Boxcar is currently being utilized in New Canaan, and New Canaan First Selectman Kevin Moynihan has said the results have been positive.
