Darien Continues To Relax Restrictions At Recreational Sites
The town and the state continue to reopen after the coronavirus lockdowns.
DARIEN, CT — Darien relaxed more restrictions at the town's recreational sites this week, according to an announcement from officials.
Additionally, more restrictions will be loosened early next week, as the community continues the process of coming out of the coronavirus lockdowns:
As of Thursday:

- Pickleball will be allowed to play doubles – please wear a mask when you cannot stay socially distant, no sharing of equipment, and please stay home if you feel sick.
- Please continue to carry out what you carry in at all parks until further notice. Dumpsters are available at both beaches if needed. Please do not leave behind dog waste bags.
- Park monitors continue to circulate the beaches and parks to remind patrons of the rules.
- No glass allowed on Weed Beach and Pear Tree beach.
- All athletic fields are open. Organized play is for authorized users only.
- Playgrounds remain closed until further notice.
- Picnic areas remain closed until further notice.
As of Friday:
- Dogs off-leash rules can revert to regular hours in the following parks:
- Dawn – 8:30 a.m. until August 31 at Cherry Lawn
- All hours in designated area between Nature Center & Brookside Road
- Dawn – 10:30 a.m. at Tilley Pond Park Mon-Friday
- All hours at Stoney Brook Park
Dogs need to remain leashed in all other parks

No dogs allowed at Weed Beach or Pear Tree Beach
As of Monday, June 15th:
- The Paddle Courts at Weed Beach will be open for doubles – please wear a mask when you cannot stay socially distant, no sharing of equipment, and please stay home if you feel sick.
As of July 1st:
- Lifeguards will be on duty at both beaches.
