"In speaking with bank employees, they informed officers that they had been sent an internal notice about the suspect as she had gone to branches in Greenwich and Stamford attempting to get account information and cash checks under the name Sarojni Basil."
A teller at the Darien branch had immediately recognized the name George was using and notified a co-worker. The two were then able to stall George until police arrived. While searching George, police found the check written out to Sarojni Basil in the amount of $4,532.
Bail for George was set at $10,000, and she was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on March 5.
