Darien Football Remains Undefeated in 24-21 Win Over Danbury

Despite a hat trick by the Hatters' James Harrington, the Blue Wave notched its fourth win Thursday.

The Darien football team improved to 4-0 Thursday with a 24-21 road win over Danbury.

Darien struck early with a 5-yard touchdown run by Peter Gesualdi, but Danbury's James Harrington scored on the Hatters' second play from scrimmage, leaving the score at 7-6 due to a missed extra point.

An interception by the Blue Wave in the second quarter led to Chris Smith's 21-yard field goal. Darien then scored again, thanks to Gesualdi's interception, which was followed by his 28-yard TD run. Harrington had his second score of the game for Danbury, pulling the Hatters within 17-14.
