Darien Gears Up For Annual Turkey Bowl Against New Canaan
This year's game is scheduled for Darien High School Stadium.
DARIEN, CT — Before you sit down for that big Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 28, you have another appointment... the annual Turkey Bowl football game between Darien and New Canaan high schools.
With the exception of a few years here and there, the two rival schools have faced each other every season since the 1920s, and on Thanksgiving Day since 1994. Last year, New Canaan won a close one over Darien, 17-14.
This year's game is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Darien High School Stadium. A total of 4,000 tickets will be available for the two schools, with students receiving a priority for them. Tickets cost $10 each, and additional information is available here.

Tailgating is prohibited, according to the Darien Police Department. Click here to read the school's letter to parents and students about the game.
As of Nov. 1, Darien was 6-0 and ranked third in the state, according to the latest Connecticut high school football poll of state sports writers.

New Canaan, which stood at 4-2 on Nov. 1, finished the week just outside of the poll's top ten.
