Darien Parents, No More School Lunches With Your Kids: Report

DARIEN, CT — Parents of Darien elementary school students will no longer be allowed to eat lunch with their child at school, following a recent decision by district officials, writes the Darien News.

The decision primarily applies to the parents of kindergarteners and first graders, and is due to safety concerns and to help the children to learn independence, according to the publication. Parents were notified about the new policy via a recent email.

Not all parents agree with the decision, however, as some voiced their objections during a recent Board of Education meeting, stressing that parents at lunch can be a positive thing.
