Darien PD Assists Norwalk Cops With Drug Arrest

One member of the Darien department was particularly helpful.

DARIEN, CT — A drug arrest in a Norwalk parking lot Thursday was assisted by the efforts of Darien Police K9 Officer Kenny, according to authorities.

Kenny was called to the scene on Connecticut Avenue after Norwalk officers apprehended 38-year-old Norwalk resident Francis Bruno, who had allegedly been spotted conducting a drug deal nearby.

"[Police Service Dog] Kenny indicated for the presence for narcotic odor in Bruno’s vehicle," wrote Norwalk police in a statement. "A search of the vehicle yielded one hundred twenty-four grams of powdered cocaine. The cocaine was packaged in forty-eight separate bags of 1.15 gram and 3.7 gram weights."

Bruno was charged with a host of narcotics violations and other infractions. His bail was set at $500,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court this month.
