Darien Police Sergeant Helps Make Big Heroin Bust Following Deadly Overdoses: PD

Sgt. Jeremiah Marron was part of a regional task force that made 13 arrests and seized several kilograms of drugs, police said.

DARIEN, CT — Detective Sgt. Jeremiah Marron was honored with a certificate of appreciation from the Drug Enforcement Administration for his efforts that helped lead to a large heroin bust following a number of overdoses in the area, police said.

The DEA Bridgeport Residence Office began investigating several heroin overdoses beginning in October 2015 with the help of Trumbull, Darien, Stamford and Norwalk police departments. The overdoses occurred within a one-week period and four were fatal.

A task force was established to track down the distributor of heroin, said Darien Capt. Ray Osborne.

After three months of investigation 13 arrests were made and more than $215,000 in total assets were seized, including six guns, two vehicles, more than one kilogram of heroin and four kilograms of cocaine, Osborne said.
