Darien Residents Join Forces To 'Squash Out' Cancer
A recent squash tournament was part of a fundraising effort for pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital.

DARIEN, CT — Squash players from Darien joined forces on Saturday, Sept. 28 to help in the fight against cancer.
The tournament, "Squash Out Cancer," was part of a fundraising effort for pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. To date, the event has raised over $160,000.
The event took place at MSquash in South Norwalk, founded and run by Darien residents Shaun Moxham and Katline Cauwels. Cauwels is also the head coach of the Darien High School squash team.

"We are thrilled to bring the squash community together and help make a difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer. It’s been amazing to witness the enthusiasm to support this cause and we are overwhelmed by the generosity of the many donors," said Cauwels in a news release.
Participants included players of all ages and levels from all over the country, ranging from top-ranked national players all the way to young players and parents who have just started to learn the game.

In total, 160 squash enthusiasts or 20 teams of eight players each, played their hearts out for Pediatric Cancer Research.
