Darien Selectmen Budget Comes with Mill Rate Increase

The proposed town budget actually comes with total operational cost decrease.

The proposed operational budget for Darien comes with an approximate 3.2 percentdecrease, but together with the education budget a small mill rate increase is anticipated.

The town mill rate would go up by about .35 to 15.7, according to the Darien Times. The mill rate rose by .8 in 2015 and 1.84 in 2014 for comparison.
