Darien Wrestling Beats Harding, 53-42
Lars Remole earns 100th career win for Blue Wave, who improve to 20-3 and continue their record-setting season
Darien wrestling coach Joe Vano and his team couldn't have timed it any better.
The Blue Wave recorded their 20th win Thursday in their final regular-season home match, defeating Harding 53-32 on senior night.
It marks the first time the Darien wrestling team has enjoyed a 2o-win season. The previous record for wins was 16, set twice, including last year.

Leading the way for Darien (20-3) on Thursday was Lars Remole, who become only the fourth wrestler in school history with 100 individual match wins in a career.
Before the meet, the seniors and families that were introduced included Cindy Gaete, Dimitri Chagares, Connor Beaumont, Cody Dizeo, John Corcoran, Lars Remole, Brendan Hughes, Jared Murphy and James Shanley.

Darien closes the regular season on Saturday in a tri-meet against Foran, Enfield and Stratford.
The postseason, consisting of four competitions, begins with the FCIAC trials, wrestlebacks and finals at New Canaan on February 11-13. That will be followed by the CIAC Class L Championships at Bristol High (Feb. 18-19), the CIAC Open championships (Feb. 25-26) in New Haven and the New England Championships (Mar. 3-5), also in New Haven.
