Several Motor Vehicle Burglaries, Thefts Reported In Darien Recently: Police
Several incidents involving motor vehicles have been reported around Darien since the beginning of the month, according to police.
DARIEN, CT — There have been several motor vehicle burglaries and thefts reported in Darien over the past week, according to police and the latest incident report.
Motor Vehicle Burglaries
On July 1 at approximately 1:07 p.m., Darien police responded to a business in the 300 block of Heights Road on a report of a motor vehicle burglary in which a suspect entered an unlocked vehicle and stole credit cards, police said. The credit cards were later used in New Haven.
On July 4 at approximately 5:17 a.m., two masked individuals tried to enter three locked vehicles in the driveway of a home on Sunset Road before they fled in a white SUV, police said, noting no entry was gained and nothing was taken. The incident was captured on home surveillance video.

Motor Vehicle Thefts
On July 3 at approximately 5:51 p.m., Darien police responded to a home on Old Kings Highway on a report of an attempted motorcycle theft by three males, police said. The suspects dropped the motorcycle and fled after being confronted by the homeowner, who captured video of the incident, police added. The motorcycle sustained damage.
On July 4 at approximately 9:28 a.m., Darien police responded to a home on Hollow Tree Ridge Road on a report of a stolen vehicle. A 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen overnight from the driveway, and surveillance footage showed two individuals "rummaging through vehicles" before fleeing in the stolen Jeep, police said.

The vehicle was later tracked to New Haven, where it was recovered by New Haven police, unoccupied and undamaged, with the keys left inside, police said.
