Darien's Summer 2024 Paving Schedule Released

Minor traffic delays are likely, according to the town.

DARIEN, CT — Darien has announced its summer 2024 paving schedule, which is set to begin this month.

Preparatory work will precede paving on all roads, the town said. Road surfaces will also have raised structures during these dates.

There may be inactivity on some roads between milling and paving, according to the town. Residents are encouraged to avoid these roads if possible during these dates, or use extra caution.

Emergency access will be available at all times, and police officers will be present to direct traffic and assist area residents during construction.

Driveway access will be limited during paving operations, however, no single driveway should be closed for more than an hour, the town noted.

On street parking will be suspended during paving operations, and minor traffic delays are likely.

The paving schedule is as follows, based on favorable weather conditions:

  • Edmond Street, from Hoyt Street to the cul de sac. Milling starts Aug. 8, paving finishes Aug. 13.
  • West Avenue, from the town line to Holmes Avenue. Milling starts Aug. 8, paving finishes Aug. 13.
  • Holmes Avenue, from West Avenue to Rose Lane. Milling starts Aug. 8, paving finishes Aug. 13.
  • Patton Drive, from West Avenue to Hollow Tree Ridge Road. Milling starts Aug. 8, paving finishes Aug. 14.
  • Edgerton Street, milling starts Aug. 9, paving finishes Aug. 14.
  • Libby Lane, from Holly Lane to Middlesex Road. Milling starts Aug. 9, paving finishes Aug. 14.
  • Holly Lane, from Noroton Avenue to Middlesex Road. Milling starts Aug. 9, paving finishes Aug. 15.
  • Lakeside Drive, from West Avenue to Sedgewick Avenue. Milling starts Aug. 12, paving finishes Aug. 15.
  • Sunset Road, from Mansfield Avenue to the cul de sac. Milling starts Aug. 13, paving finishes Aug. 16.
  • Oak Crest, from Mansfield Avenue to the cul de sac. Milling starts Aug. 14, paving finishes Aug. 16.
  • Old Kings Highway North, from I-95 bridge to Norwalk town line. Milling starts Aug. 14, paving finishes Aug. 20.
  • Musket Lane, from Raymond Street to the cul de sac. Milling starts Aug. 15, paving finishes Aug. 20.
  • Great Hill Road, from Tokeneke Road. Milling starts Aug. 16, paving finishes Aug. 21.
  • Old Farm Road, from Tokeneke Road to Tokeneke Trail. Milling starts Aug. 19, paving finishes Aug. 21.
