Elderly Motorist Drives Car Into River in Darien

The driver was trying to back out of a space, but went in the wrong direction.

Crews are working to remove a car from a river in Darien after a senior driver drove forward instead of reverse in the morning.

The elderly resident was trying to back out of a space outside the senior center, according to NBC Connecticut.

The vehicle plunged into an embankment and into the river, police said on Twitter.
