Thank you to everyone that came out to our third annual Home for the Holidays event. It was a great success, raising over $5000 for Darien EMS-Post 53.
More than 70 local teenagers volunteer for Darien EMS-Post 53, the only EMT service of its kind nationwide. Here they are taught professional EMT skills and are continually trained in all aspects of emergency care. The raised funds will go towards the purchase of more advanced training equipment. As Emma Byrne, Post 53 member and Publicity Officer said, “This is so great. We always need new training equipment to enhance our skills and to use when we teach life-saving skills in CPR, AED and First Aid classes to the community.”
Gregg Pollack, Elissa Grayer and Stephanie Sigg of Country Design, joined Nielsen’s designers creating their own interpretation of a holiday tablescape. It was a perfect evening to shop, catch up with friends among the Christmas décor and begin planning your own holiday creations.

“We are so delighted with how many people came out for this event, and it is our honor to be able to support a cause that means so much to us and to our town.” Sandy Nielsen-Baumann.
With more than 300 people, the event was the buzz of the town that evening. Attendees got a chance to meet and speak with several Post 53 members, who amazingly, remained on-call all evening!
