Hurricane Jose Forecast Cone Now Includes Connecticut
Jose is tracking closer to Connecticut, which is now in the "cone of uncertainty," according to the National Hurricane Center.

It’s time to start being a bit concerned about Jose. The National Weather Service has now placed the “cone of uncertainty” over Connecticut, and Jose is expected to impact the state beginning Tuesday through Thursday.
No one is saying that Jose, which is expected to strengthen from a current tropical storm back into a hurricane, will make landfall in Connecticut, but the track has moved closer to the state, which could lead to heavy rain, flooding concerns and possible power outages
NBC Connecticut's Bob Maxon said Friday, “No reason to panic, but the trends can't be ignored. Jose is a threat to the Mid-Atlantic coast and New England. We are now in the, what I call the 'cone of possibility' with this and I think the next update later this morning will have us under a slightly higher threat. Shoreline residents should keep a close eye on this over the weekend." (Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app.)

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons said “Good Friday morning! A passing shower or thunderstorm possible today, otherwise sunshine and lots of humidity. High temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. The weekend is looking good! My eyes are on Jose which is tracking closer and closer to Connecticut. I think this could be a significant coastal flooding event along Long Island Sound next week! Some scattered power outages possible at this point. Please pay very close attention to the updates through the weekend.”

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan added Friday, “We need to watch this storm very carefully.”
“Tropical Storm Jose became a whole lot more interesting Thursday as our suite of computer models brought the storm much closer to Connecticut by Tuesday of next week,” NBC Connecticut’s weather team said.
The National Hurricane Center on Friday said that Jose is expected to produce high surf and “life-threatening rip currents” along portions of the East Coast. Jose is currently located about 360 miles northeast of the southeast Bahamas and is moving west-northwest at 8 mph.
Winds are currently at 70 mph, and Jose is expected to strengthen over the next two days and become a hurricane once again.
“There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. Interests from North Carolina northward to New England on the east coast of the United States should monitor the progress of this system,” the National Hurricane Center said.
