I lump all of you together because it is more efficient for me. Captain Planet is the one I respect the most of all of you. He makes the most sense. You fail to realize that medical professionals all across the country don't agree with YOU. Paramedics are the standard of care. You should want paramedics to arrive with EMTs to speed care. I posited that the patient wanted to be taken to Norwalk Hospital which by the way is more highly rated than Stamford Hospital based on everything I read. It is not relevant that CMED responds only available units. Presumably, CMED would not respond unavailable units. What is relevant is how far the paramedics are from the patient and how long it takes for them to get to the patient. Paramedics are delayed when the Glenbrook unit is not available but, in reality, they are always delayed because they are not based in Darien. Having EMTs and paramedics arrive at the same time would make the initiation of treatment, such as intravenous treatment for diabetics, seamless. You need to understand that the only reason I try to answer your ridiculous comments is not to try and persuade you but to give readers a true and accurate picture of the paramedic issue. You people are so ponderous. Stay tuned. Walter Casey.
