Informational Meeting Scheduled On Natural Gas Project In Darien

DARIEN, CT — Eversource will host a Gas Expansion Open House on Thursday, April 19, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Mather Community Center, 2 Renshaw Road in Darien, according to company officials.

There will be multiple “information stations” covering topics ranging from the basics of natural gas, to finding a contractor, to financing.

"Potential customers will be able to see neighborhood maps showing our proposed construction schedule," wrote officials. "And yes, they’ll be able to sign-up for natural gas service that night.

Below is the text of the letter recently sent to Darien residents about the meeting:

Dear Homeowner:

Eversource is working with First Selectman Jayme Stevenson and other town officials to bring natural gas to
your neighborhood. Soon you will be able to take advantage of the benefits of natural gas. You may also qualify for the following limited-time offers to help you make the switch from oil or propane:

• You may qualify for a free gas connection* from the street to your home (a $5,000 value for the gas service line). Call us soon to find out.
  
• $250 credit on your Eversource gas bill when you switch to natural gas for heating your home. (Available 2/1/18 – 5/31/18. Special restrictions apply.)
  
• Up to $800 in instant discounts for high-efficiency natural gas heating equipment (ends 12/31/18).
  
• Low-interest financing for new equipment purchases when you make the switch from oil or propane.

your home.
