Lawsuit Moves Forward From Assault In Darien Bar: Report

Darien resident Matthew Porretta, an actor, suffered serious facial injuries in the December 2016 incident.

DARIEN, CT — The lawsuit filed by a Darien actor against the man who assaulted him with a beer mug at Chez Ernie's in Darien will go to trial in June of 2019, reports the Stamford Advocate.

Matthew Porretta is suing the bar's owner, Steven J. Palmer, and Norwalk resident Christopher Aikler, the accused attacker. Porretta suffered serious facial injuries in the December 2016 incident and was permanently disfigured, according to the lawsuit.

Aikler was arrested on charges of second-degree and third-degree assault and breach of peace, and the case is pending.
