Natural Gas Project Road Closure Aug. 25 In Darien: Update
The complete, temporary closure is required to allow Eversource to install a natural gas main.

DARIEN, CT — Hoyt Street (Route 106) in Darien will be completely closed to traffic for about 16 hours on Saturday, Aug. 25, to allow Eversource to install a natural gas main, according to Darien police. The original date for the closure was changed to the 25th due to rain in the forecast for this weekend.
The temporary closure of Hoyt Street between Camp Avenue and Woodway Road will run from 7:30 a.m. to midnight on the 26th.

"In cooperation with the State of CT DOT and the City of Stamford, an approved detour has been set up to route motorists around the work zone," wrote Darien police in a statement. "The detour will utilize Camp Avenue, Woodway Road and Hope Street and will be clearly posted to assist motorists. Residents of Hoyt Street, Greenwood Avenue. Wakemore Street and Kensett Lane within the affected area will maintain access to their homes but may experience short delays or alternating access points as the workday progresses."
Darien police officers and traffic agents will be on hand throughout the closure to help maintain safe and orderly traffic flow around the affected areas, according to officials.

"The Police Department asks that all motorists plan trips in/around the affected area accordingly and consider alternate routes if possible," stated police. "We thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience as this natural gas expansion project moves forward."
