New EVP, Head of Community Banking at Bankwell
Darien resident, David P. Dineen, has been appointed to Executive Vice President, Head of Community Banking, at Bankwell.
-- David P. Dineen has been appointed to Executive Vice President, Head of Community Banking, at Bankwell, it has been announced by Christopher R. Gruseke, President and CEO of Bankwell and its parent company, Bankwell Financial Group. In his new capacity, Mr. Dineen will join Bankwell’s Executive Team and report to Mr. Gruseke.
Mr. Dineen was most recently Senior Vice President and National Market Manager for Capital One Bank. During his 30 year banking career, he previously served as Executive Vice President, Branch Distribution at Capital One, where he was responsible for branch and small business banking for the New York metro market, which included more than 250 branches.
As Head of Community Banking, Mr. Dineen will oversee Bankwell’s deposit lines of business, including retail, commercial and cash management, as well as ebanking and marketing, to align, develop and implement the Company’s overall deposit growth strategy and new business development opportunities.

Mr. Dineen resides in Darien with his wife and three children. He is a member of the Darien Board of Education, the Darien Volunteer Fire Department, and the Town of Darien Firefighter’s Foundation. He and his wife are also actively involved with the Tiny Miracles Foundation.
