Connecticut Weather: Powerful Storm Now Expected To Be A 'Miss' For Friday: UPDATE
And believe it or not, Connecticut's expected to be in a heatwave next week with temps in the 90s. Here are the latest details.

Let this be another example of a lot can change in 24 hours with the weather forecast. On Tuesday, several Connecticut meteorologists said new computer models showed a powerful late-season nor’easter tracking over the state, which would produce heavy rain and strong winds for Friday.
A day later, not so much. It looks like Connecticut may still see some rain showers, but new data Wednesday morning shows that the storm will largely be a “miss,” NBC Connecticut’s Ryan Hanrahan said in a video post.
Hanrahan says the storm on Friday will be “nearby” Connecticut Friday, but he now “expects it to miss,” while adding “we’re watching it closely.”

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons also says “less rain for Friday” is now predicted. (Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app.)
And in more good weather news, we’ll see temps warm up considerably to near 70 degrees today, Hanrahan said, and sun breaks through in the afternoon. More sun and warmer on Thursday with highs near 75 degrees, the NBC Connecticut meteorologist said.

And after temps struggled to hit 55 degrees on Tuesday, we’re expecting a possible heatwave beginning Sunday through Wednesday with temps in the low 90s on Monday and Tuesday in Connecticut, Hanrahan said.
Simmons said, “The forecast is looking much, much better for the day today! Expect more sunshine for the afternoon at high temperatures near or around 70. A cool night tonight it'll drop back down into the 40s! The sun comes back tomorrow with temps in the 70s. Less rain for Friday, the weekend is looking good! Hot weather early next week.”
