Popular Bakery To Close Darien Location

"After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors," the business recently announced.

DARIEN, CT — After over 10 years in business, SoNo Baking Co. announced it will close its Darien location on March 25.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of our beloved bakery in Darien," the business posted on Instagram on Monday. "After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors. We want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and patronage over the years. Serving this wonderful community has been a true privilege, and we are incredibly thankful for the relationships we've built with each of you."

It was not immediately clear why the location is closing.

Located at 49 Tokeneke Road, the Darien location opened in 2014.

The bakery offers a variety of baked goods, from tarts, pies and cookies to breads, pastries, breakfast pastries, and cakes, to go along with coffee and special holiday menus.

Customers flocked to the comments under the business's post about the Darien closure.

"This is so sad. I was just there and had the best banana muffin," one person commented.

"I buy bread every week….i am so bummed," posted another.

However, Darien residents can still get their sweet treats at the South Norwalk bakery at 101 Water St.
