Portion of Middlesex Road Closed in Darien

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department Monday issued an advisory to motorists of a disruption to normal traffic flow scheduled for today, Aug. 8.

Middlesex Road, between Mansfield Avenue (Route 124) and Ox Ridge Lane, will be closed in one direction until 4:30 p.m. Traffic will be allowed to enter Middlesex Road from Mansfield Avenue. and travel westbound.

Northbound traffic on Middlesex Road (near the Ox Ridge Hunt Club) will be detoured onto Ox Ridge Lane, Hollow Tree Ridge Road and Half Mile Road in order to access Mansfield Avenue.

The detour is required because the Aquarion Water Company contractor will be installing a new water main in the intersection of Mansfield Avenue and Middlesex Road. Residents of the immediate area, and all emergency vehicles, will have full access to the area but may encounter slight delays.
