Following the Gamm Report, I believe it is time for Chairman Mao of the BOF and Chairman Haggerty-Ross of the BOE to resign. The Gamm Report detailed pervasive law breaking that had to be going on for more than one year. Mao and Hagerty-Ross either knew or should have known what was going on. It is simply not credible that they didn't know that there was something very wrong. At the BOE the other night, Haggerty-Ross seemed a beaten person. She passed the buck to the administration and that just doesn't cut it. She appears to lack the will and stamina to carry on. Mao seemed unaware of the importance of appointing a new and untainted auditor. I brought up the issue of a new auditor. She should have been the one. She also should have clearly stated that Gamm, not the current auditor, discovered the special education illegalities. Also, Mao did not understand the importance of a 100% audit sample size. It is time for these two Chairmen to go.
Stay tuned,
Walter Casey
