Rob Werner Running for Darien First Selectman

Werner will appear as a independent candidate on the November ballot.

Rob Werner announced that he will appear as an independent candidate for the first selectman of Darien.

Werner has been a town resident since 1996 and is involved in a number of local volunteer groups including, Little League, Babe Ruth baseball and various PTOS. He also serves meals at a homeless shelter in a neighboring city.

Werner’s petition has been approved by the Secretary of the State’s office.

“I entered this race because petty partisanship is frustrating the work of government on a national, state and local level. It’s time for a new way,” he said. “I look forward to serving not only the unaffiliated voters of Darien, but also our citizens who are fed up with irrelevant squabbles and personal attacks.”

He continued, “As an independent First Selectman, I will devote all my skills and energies to making Darien better now and planning for our future.”
