U.S. News & World Report recently released its list of the top high schools in CT.
DARIEN, CT — U.S. News & World Report recently released its ranking of the top high schools in Connecticut, and Darien High School came in at No. 2 in the state.
Nationally, DHS ranked No. 169. U.S. News & World Report reviewed 25,000 U.S. public high schools for its list, and 198 Connecticut schools made the rankings.
According to the list, the top 10 high schools in Connecticut are:

- Connecticut IB Academy, East Hartford
- Darien High School, Darien
- Marine Science Magnet High School of Southeastern, Groton
- Weston High School, Weston
- Greenwich High School, Greenwich
- Hall High School, West Hartford
- Simsbury High School, Simsbury
- Farmington High School, Farmington
- Staples High School, Westport
- Conard High School, West Hartford
The rankings also include the best magnet, charter and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) schools.
Along with the high ranking, Darien Public Schools was one of 975 school districts in the country to be recognized by the NAMM Foundation as one of the best communities for music education.

The honor recognizes and celebrates outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education. This is the third year in a row Darien has been recognized.
"These recognitions reflect the extraordinary talents and accomplishments of our students and teachers," Superintendent of Darien Public Schools Dr. Alan Addley told Patch. "They also recognize and celebrate the district’s and community’s support for music, the arts, a quality education and academic excellence."
