Shake Shack to Present Smaller Sign Request to Darien ZBA in May

The popular burger chain is looking to open a new location on the Post Road.

DARIEN, CT - Next month, popular hamburger chain Shake Shack will go before the Zoning Board of Appeals and present a new request for a smaller sign for the proposed restaurant the company wants to open on the Post Road in Darien.

A specific date for the May meeting has not yet been set, reports The Hour. The proposed new sign features letters 22 inches tall as opposed to the original 24-inch letter height.

The 24-inch sign was rejected by the ZBA because they believed it was too big.

Representatives for Shake Shack plan to argue that anything below 22-inches will be too small for motorists to discern, which could be a traffic hazard.
