Connecticut Weather: Special Weather Statement Issued
The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather statement for the entire state. Here's what you need to know.

Welcome to mid January weather today in Connecticut where it will feel like 15 degrees during the afternoon and single digits tonight. The very cold weather will last through the entire weekend before moderating on Monday. The wind will also be a big factor today as gusts could exceed 40 mph at times.
The National Weather Service has issued a "Special Weather Statement" for Friday's weather. For southern Connecticut, the weather service says, "Winds will gust up to 45 mph immediately following the passage of an arctic front this morning. This could result in the downing of some tree limbs or compromised trees, along with isolated power outages. Northwest winds will then gust to around 40 mph for the rest of the day, ushering in a much colder airmass which will allow temperatures drop into the 30s. Wind chills will fall into the teens and 20s as a result."
For northern Connecticut the weather service says, "Temperatures will fall through the 30s today near the coast and into the 20s in the interior this afternoon. Afternoon wind chills will drop into the teens and 20s. Wind chills tonight will fall through the teens and into the single numbers with near zero wind chills for some locations... This will be quite the change from the mild fall we have experienced. If you plan on being outdoors tonight, be prepared for bitter cold wind chills and dress accordingly for conditions more typical of mid winter."
